in News

The Consortium for Aerospace Research and Innovation in Canada (CARIC) applauds the $54 million contribution to MDA Systems Ltd. and its partners by the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development, on May 5, 2016.

MDA and its partners, satellite services companies and university researchers, will work on the first project to benefit from the Technology Demonstration Program with a focus on new satellite applications. This funding will help bridge the gap between research activities and the development of aerospace companies.

Denis Faubert, President and CEO of CARIC, rejoiced at the announcement: “Collaborative research involving industries, the research community and the Government provides a foundation for increasing the aerospace sector’s competitiveness. The aerospace industry is important to Canada, and we are delighted with the involvement and commitment of the Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development towards innovation.”
