Kevin Lemke enrolled in the Canadian Forces in 1983 and attended the Royal Military College in Kingston, graduating with a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering in 1987. After completing Aerospace Engineering Officer training he was posted to CFB Edmonton as an aircraft maintenance officer on the CC130 Hercules. Starting in 1991 he attended post graduate studies at Georgia Tech, completing a Masters degree in Material Engineering.
The post graduate degree was a precursor to a posting as the Lead Engineer for Failure Analysis at the Quality Engineering Test Establishment in Hull, Quebec. This was followed by a promotion to Major and a tour in National Defence Headquarters as the Aircraft Engineering Officer for the CC130 Hercules fleet. In 2002 he moved to 435 Squadron in Winnipeg as the Squadron Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Officer.
In 2004 Kevin began his second career in commercial industry. He started as a Project Manager at Cascade Aerospace in Abbotsford BC and moved through a variety of roles as a Program Manager and Project Director. In 2008 he transitioned to Heli-One in Delta BC as the Director of Maintenance and Engineering at their new Canadian facility. He joined IMP Aerospace of Halifax Nova Scotia, in 2010 where he held the position of Vice President of Production. In 2015 he transferred back to Cascade Aerospace, now a part of IMP Aerospace and Defence, in the position of Vice President of Engineering and Operations.
