Dr. Camille Boulet, Defence Research and Development Canada / Government of Canada

Dr. Cam Boulet is Chief of Staff (S&T) for the Assistant Deputy Minister, Science and Technology (ADM (S&T)) in the Department of National Defence.

As Chief of Staff, Dr. Boulet is responsible for strategic planning, external partnerships and overall direction on S&T policy and foresight, and assists the ADM in discharging his senior executive responsibilities. He advises the ADM on defence and security matters and is accountable to the ADM for all matters relating to the development of S&T policy and strategy and the integration of such within the S&T Strategy and annual business planning.

Dr Boulet joined the Defence Research Establishment Suffield as a Defence Scientist in 1987.  Dr Boulet’s personal research addressed chemical and biological warfare defence and the development of integrated CB detection and identification systems.

Prior to his appointment as Chief of Staff in 2014, Dr. Boulet was Director General Science & Technology Force Employer (DGSTFE) from 2013 to 2014, Director General of DRDC Suffield from 2009 to 2013, DRDC’s first Chief Scientist from 2007 to 2009, and the founding director of the CBRN Research and Technology Initiative (CRTI).
