Brian Terry is Co-founder and CEO of Agile, a spin-out of Memorial University of Newfoundland founded in August 2014 to commercialize technologies developed for drone applications. Agile is currently focused on launching Synapse™, its performance monitoring multi-motor control system for industrial and military drones, which it believes will disrupt the ESC market.
After studying mathematics at Memorial and McGill, Brian began his work career as a software developer in the marine technology sector. He co-founded his first tech start-up in 1986 and a second in 1993. After a hiatus involving lots of golf and some consulting in foreign lands during 2004-5, he joined Genesis Group, Memorial’s tech transfer office, as a technology commercialization officer in 2006. It was there that he got involved in the R&D project that rekindled the start-up urge that led to Agile.
