GARDN Conference is the meeting on sustainable aviation in Canada.
Air travel industry has set clear climate targets: improve the aviation fleet efficiency by an average of 1.5% per annum between 2009 and 2020, stabilize net carbon emissions through carbon-neutral growth from 2020, and reduce net carbon emissions by 50% between 2005 and 2050.
The competitiveness of the Canadian air transport sector is increasingly dependent on its ability to adopt environmentally sustainable practices. Since 2009, the Green Aviation Research and Development Network (GARDN) has contributed to the development of technologies and processes for quiet, clean and sustainable air transport, including projects on sustainable aviation fuels. These collaborative projects have led to groundbreaking innovations along the supply chain and have helped transform ideas into economic value.
This conference will be the opportunity to learn more about those innovations and to connect with key stakeholders from the Canadian Government, research institutes and industries. The objective is to better integrate cross-sectoral strengths that accelerate the development of sustainable alternatives to aircraft design, engines, avionic systems and fuels.
