Dwayne Lucas is the R&D executive lead for AIAC Pacific and regional director for the western region (British Columbia and Alberta).
Mr. Lucas currently leads Lucas Aero Strategies Inc., a specialty consulting group focused on aerospace development, planning and innovation. Before that, he spent eight years with Cascade Aerospace, retiring as executive vice-president and chief operating officer. Mr. Lucas played a key role in the development of Cascade’s military, government and business development programs, leading to the winning bid for the C-130 Hercules avionics program and the Mexican Air Force C-130 Hercules aircraft upgrade program. Before joining Cascade, he was a brigadier general in the Canadian Armed Forces and served for 36 years in a variety of roles, such as director general of Aerospace Equipment Program Management.
Toward the end of his air force career, Mr. Lucas was intimately involved in the preparation of the Aerospace Review, led by the Honourable David Emerson. In 2013, he helped establish the Aerospace Defence and Security Expo (ADSE), which is now heading into its third year. He sits on the boards of the Canadian Commercial Corporation and Canada’s Aviation Hall of Fame.
